Girls Football Team Win Games Vs Knockainey & Kilmallock
Our girls began their defence of the South Premier Football title last week in Kilmallock.
The girls were very efficient on the day and ran up a big score to record their first win.
Earlier today, they picked up win number two after a close game with Knockainey NS.
They have a further two games left in the round robin stage of the competition against Bruree NS and Scoil Dean Cussen, Bruff.
South Mini 7s Football
Well done to our boys’ and girls’ teams who took part in the South Limerick INTO Mini Sevens competition today.
The boys lost a close game with Martinstown NS in the first round and this turned out to be the pivotal game in the boys competition as both schools won the remainder of their games against Ballylanders NS, Kilbehenny NS and Knockainey NS. That meant Martinstown retained their title and Herbertstown finished as runners-up.
Our girls were runners-up also as Kilbehenny NS edged a close game of the two schools in maroon. Both schools defeated Ballylanders NS and Knockainey NS who were the other schools who took part on the day.

Cumann na mBunscol Season Gets Underway
Well done to our boys’ and girls’ teams who got the new Cumann na mBunscol season underway with games against our neighbours Caherline NS today.
Infants Up & Running With Mathletics
Our sixth class helped the boys and girls in junior infants to log in to Mathletics today.
Juniors & Seniors then got some time using the school’s iPads to complete some activities.
Hospital/Herbertstown Continue Support of Gaelic Games in the school
Hospital/Herbertstown GAA club have a long association with the school and that continued today with the presentation of playing equipment to the school.
John Collins, on behalf of Hospital/Herbertstown Bord na n-Óg, made the presentation along with current club players Joe Fogarty and Oisín O’Grady. All three are past pupils of Herbertstown NS.
The school is very grateful for the support.
6th Class Tour of Ardnacrusha Power Station
Sixth class were given a tour of Ardnacrusha Power Station on Friday.
The pupils got to view many different areas of the station as well as being shown how the plant produces electricity. Their guides explained how the different parts of the scheme were constructed and the pupils really enjoyed learning about how fish travel through Ardnacrusha.
It was a very memorable day for all.
First Holy Communion
Congratulations to the boys and girls in second class who received their First Holy Communion today.
Special thanks to everyone who helped the boys and girls get ready for their big day, especially, Mr Martin Franklin, Breda Kennedy & Louise Morris. Also, well done to the choir and Ms Barry who added to the occasion with the lovely music. Thank you too to Fr Seán for the lovely ceremony.
