BOM News ~ November 2019
- HNS recently received news that the late Thomas McCarthy left the school €5000 in his will. Thomas, originally from Cahercorney, attended Herbertstown NS and his grand niece and grand nephew are currently attending. The money has been added to the Playground Enhancement Fund (Pedal to the Peak fundraising etc). We are extremely grateful for this bequest and will ensure it is put to good, long term use. The family have been contacted to express our gratitude.
- HNS successfully secured extra funding for the classroom extension, increasing the grant to reflect the increase in Building Costs since the original approval and also to allow for circulation areas. The project is currently in the design stage, with a view to sending plans to the Department of Education & Skills for approval early in the new year.
- The BOM has established a sub committee to lead the design and implementation of enhancements to the school yard and playground areas. Members are currently researching alternative surfaces and securing quotations with a view to finalising plans and proceeding in the new year.
The new BOM is now in place for the term 01-12-19 50 30-11-2023
