The boys and girls in 5th and 6th class have been very busy in recent weeks learning about Nepal and Mount Everest.
They have completed some excellent work including focus on famous mountaineers Edmund Hillary, Tenzing Norgay and Kenton Cool.

Well done to our boys who represented the school in the Harry Greensmyth Cup today in Kilmallock.
The boys had four games against Galbally NS, Croom NS, Hospital NS and eventual winners Banogue NS.
It was the first game in the maroon and white for some of the players and hopefully they will have many more games for the school in the years ahead.
We had super performances throughout the day in lovely sunshine.
Our girls continued their memorable sporting year by representing Limerick in the FAI Primary 5s Munster Finals in Cahir.
After two close games in the group stage, a win and a loss left all three teams level on points. It was decided that a penalty shootout would be used to determine who would go into the semi-finals and unfortunately this was where Herbertstown exited the competition.
The girls were excellent throughout the day and were very unlucky to miss out on progressing. They have been fantastic ambassadors for our school and county Limerick throughout the year.
10 teams made up of pupils from third to sixth class took part, taking on 8 rounds of 8 questions each.
Congratulations to our winning team!
Here was the picture round from the quiz:
The girls won all four of their games against Kilcolman NS, Tineteriffe NS, Bilboa NS and Scoil Ide Naofa.
Herbertstown will now go forward to represent Limerick in the Munster finals in Cahir on May 7th.
This is the fourth county title won by our girls (Celtic Image Shield, INTO 7s, Olympic Handball & FAI Primary 5s) in what has been a memorable year for them and everyone in the school.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be for either the South boys or girls in the Mackey Cup or Neville Cup but it is a fantastic achievement to play for the South team and Gearóid, Ellie and Emily should be very proud of themselves.
In their first game, the team played very well and secured a 5-1 win over Patrickswell NS.
In the second game, an early goal for Dromcollogher NS put them in a good position. Herbertstown had a large amount of possession and were finally rewarded with a goal with around 2 minutes to go. At this stage, our girls were perhaps the most likely to go on and win the game but Dromcollogher made a fast break and got the all important goal to give them the win.
In the final game of the group, Patrickswell beat Dromcollogher NS 3-1.
With all teams tied on 1 win each scoring difference was used to decide the top team and fortunately our good win in the first game saw Herbertstown qualifying for the county final. Well done girls.
Well done to the team for their great performances over both days in Corbally.
