Munster Olympic Handball Title

Congratulations to our girls who won the Munster Olympic Handball competition yesterday in the Neptune Stadium in Cork.

The girls defeated Lisvernane NS, drew with Shandrum NS and defeated Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn from Tralee to set up a overall decider with round 1 opponents Lisvernane.

At half time the girls were in front but the Tipperary school took control of the game heading into the final minute and led by 2 goals. However, our girls did not give up and managed to score the last 4 goals of the game to end up the winning side by a 2 goal margin.

They now go forward to represent Limerick and Munster at the All Ireland finals in April.

GAA Handball

Well done to our pupils who represented the school at the South Limerick Cumann na mBunscol One Wall blitz in John the Baptist CS today.

Each player did very well and we had medal winners in the girls 5th/6th class category.

Indoor Hurling

Staff

Well done to our two teams who played in the indoor hurling competition today in Martinstown.

Both teams were in action against Martinstown NS and Ballyagran NS and the boys’ team has qualified for the finals day next week.

Girls Retain County Olympic Handball title

Congratulations to our girls’ team who retained their county title in Olympic Handball in UL on Friday. The girls were excellent throughout the day and had wins over Ballylanders, Croom and Caherline National Schools. They will now go forward to represent Limerick in the Munster Finals in Cork on the 4th of March. Well done to their coaches Mr Franklin and Ms. O’Dwyer.

We also had three other teams in action. We had boys teams from 5th & 6th and also from 3rd & 4th as well as a second girls team from 3rd & 4th. All played very well on a great day out for the school.
