Dancing with Pat
Pupils from all classes are making great progress in a variety of routines that Pat is working on with them.

Herbertstown NS Pupils in action for South Limerick
Congratulations to Lauren & Aoibhinn who won the Neville Cup with South Limerick yesterday!

South Limerick defeated Limerick City on a scoreline of 1.05 to 0.03. Well done to our girls who join past pupil Aisling Farrell as the sole holders of Neville Cup medals from Herbertstown NS.
Earlier in the week, Liam & Seán were in action for the boys in the Mackey Cup. The South were looking for a fourth title in a row but this was a bridge too far as they bowed out in the semi-final.

We are very proud of our pupils who represented our school with such distinction.
Herbertstown NS Athletics
Pupils take part in races ahead of Limerick Primary School Sports (athletics) in UL.
Pupils from 1st – 6th took part in a series of races yesterday. The quality of running and the determination showed by the pupils was really fantastic to see. Congratulations to the boys and girls who will now go to represent the school in next week’s event in the University of Limerick.
For an added bit of drama, check out these slow-mo videos of some of the race finishes!

Primary Game
Best wishes to Tadhg who will be playing the Primary Game during the Munster Football Championship meeting of Limerick & Tipperary in Thurles this weekend.

Kids Run For Fun/Great Limerick Run
Well done to everyone from the school community who took part in events over the May Bank Holiday weekend.
We had almost 50 pupils involved in the Kids Run for Fun on the Saturday and numerous others from the wider school community who completed the Great Limerick Run on the Sunday.

Star Awards – April
Congratulations to our Star Award winners for April! One pupil from each classroom was selected by their class teacher and the award winners were presented with certificates at today’s assembly. They were also given a night off homework for their efforts!
An extra award, decided on by Ms O’Dwyer and Mrs. Brosnan, is presented to pupils for a particular act of kindness or to pupils who have completed an exemplary piece of work in school. Well done to the latest recipient of this award.

Seniors/First Hunt for Mini-Beasts
The boys and girls from seniors/first explored the school’s outdoor spaces today in the search of insects and bugs!
They were able to have a good look at any of their finds using the school’s pooters (insect-catchers!).

Active School Flag Survey
Our Active School Flag Committee carried out a sports/P.E. related survey last week.
Members of our Active School Flag Committee were busy last week as they carried out a survey of our pupils’ views on sport & P.E. in the school.

The committee tallied up all the results just before the Easter holidays and produced some very interesting results!

Second/Third Class Projects
2nd and 3rd class completed a group SESE project this week.
They had to pick a topic that they had studied during the year and find out some more information about it. Each group designed a poster and had to create a 3D model of their choosing. We had some absolutely fantastic projects to present to the rest of the school including: David Attenborough dramas, chopstick challenges, wooden pyramids among many other exciting things! The girls and boys researched and designed the work entirely by themselves and learned lots about their chosen topic along the way. Well done to all!
